    This is for the shift boot right? If so yes I'd drill it and use NutSerts as you can't tap the .9mm steel and nuts on the back would be a royal PITA.

    86.5 Auto has a different tunnel as you've found, I had the reverse of this going Manual>Auto as the later model Shifter I had wouldn't bolt in.

    The 2nd had a 180f t/stat switch for the fan. You can't really overcool Trans Fluid as the cooler circuit is only a bypass and not full flow.

    Any Markings/Chamfers "usually" face UP but it's worth checking any documentation to be 100% sure on this before assembly.

    Thin smear of Permatex #4 on the outside and grease on the inside makes them slip right in with finger pressure.

    The Mk4TT Discs WON'T physically fit over the ABS hubs no matter what you do, on non ABS hubs you need to machine the Hub 5mm smaller in diameter.
