    Pedal height retention test: Pump the pedal a few times with the engine off to exhaust the vacuum in the booster. Hold constant pressure on the pedal. It SHOULDN'T creep towards the floor. If it does and there are no obvious leaks at the wheels it's usually a leaking master cylinder...
