    piston order

Muppet :p If they say all 6 are the same then no it won't matter, just make sure you assemble the Pistons and Rods facing the right way. Ring gap stagger is also very important, there's a diagram in the TRSM you DON'T want any gaps in the same place as others..

is it necessary to run a thermostat in-line with an oil cooler setup?

No probs at all CK, only failures I've heard of with pushlok has been when used with the wrong hose, I'm actually about to do this on purpose with my heater hoses as the alternative was bulky/ugly to get through the firewall and pushlock hose isn't really flexible enough to do what I want (won't...

    Two problems.

Check the pedal adjustment, there's a section covering it in the TRSM.

is it necessary to run a thermostat in-line with an oil cooler setup?

Pushlock fittings have aggressive widely spaced barbs on them and are designed to work clampless with the correct hose, common brass fittings aren't.

    Two problems.

Fire the engine up give the clutch 3>4 good pumps and put it in a gear, let me know if it's easier to get in each gear this way.

Could just be a tolerence stackup between the 2 shells that were reading .7mm and is why we suggested playing musical bearings.

is it necessary to run a thermostat in-line with an oil cooler setup?

NEVER had a pushlock fail in 30+ years of using them but have seen quite a few barb and hose clamps fail.... :(

Pop a hose off and lose an engine and the AN fittings are suddenly very cheap CK.....

    Tap size

m12x1.25 from memory for the KS and more than likely m8x1.25 for the snapped stud.

Pull the bolts out until only the thread is in the cap, squeeze the bolts together and use them as levers to wiggle the cap while pulling upwards.

ENOUGH FUCKING THREADS on the same car.... Each question does NOT require a new thread.

    main bearing clearances

Caps are numbered and have to stay in their correct locations. I hope you haven't rotated the crank with the caps in the wrong spots...

a plate on the back of the head

Common for the banjo bolt to shear off when you try to undo it :(

is it necessary to run a thermostat in-line with an oil cooler setup?

I bought a MoCal one for the Chev this time (it has built in -10 male fittings) but have had great results using the cheaper permacool's, all have been 180's.

is it necessary to run a thermostat in-line with an oil cooler setup?

Only ever ran the 180's here, 200 is a bit too hot for me as in testing back in the Z car days I noticed that Oil temp closely follows coolant temps Vs load.

NO NOT CAPS just the shells the caps MUST stay in order....

Ditto on play musical shells and see if it changes, leave the block side alone and just swap the caps inserts around. Last 7M build I did was on the high side of 2 thou and was fine.
