On my 86.5 Ive spent a total of $1000 over the purchase price of 2K. On my 89 Ive spent a whopping total of $250 over the purchase price of $600...oddly enough I think the 89 is worth more than the 86.5...LOL!

Doing what others suggested worked brilliantly. Just drop the tail of the trans, and get the two top bolts with about 3 feet of extensions (a couple of wobbly's in the chain helps as well). In hindsight, that would have been a good way to get the top...

Well, the flywheel had a bunch of hotspots and the disk was down to rivets on the PP side. The pilot bearing was good (replaced anyways) and the input shaft looked good and had little to no play. The yoke was clean, and the seal in the back looked good. So this thing should be good to go another...
Well, got the trans out thanks to your tips. Speed Dodeci (Tim) came over with one of his friends and they helped me get the W58 back in...they took off...and I realized I forgot to put the throwout bearing/fork back in the trans...ROFL!
Called Tim, and he came right back, and we dropped it...
I could take some pics. Here is the deal though, I took off the DS fender (was gonna swap it onto my 89) and the hood and upper nose are on my 86.5. I was hoping to take the windshield and the PS door, but I can leave those alone I guess.
