<---looks around for who said that! :dunno:
On both my supras Ive had that same problem. Once those slides get all gummed up they can be nearly impossible to get off the mount bracket.
Here is what I have done with some success. Take the caliper out of the car completely (dont forget to cap off the brake line so you dont drop all your...
ohh yeah, thats right, that is what it used to be called.
I just remember the fuel level one because I was driving that when I was going to college, and I was forever running out of gas in it.
understood and acknowledged.
What about temperature? adverse effects from pushing it through to fast?
(like, taking out the thermostat in your coolant system is a bad idea)
I was actually under the impression from something JetJock said that changing your oil any more frequent than 3000 miles is nothing more than a waste of money. Im not sure but I also kinda got the impression in certain cases it can have adverse effects.
I have no idea what pressure would need to be to cause it, but isnt it true that in a HVLP motor like the 7M extreme pressures can cause the oil to act like a "pressure sprayer" and "scour" the bearings?
Ive heard others mention this, but dont know what kind of truth there is behind it.
ROFL
Nissan - We dont let blondes buy our cars!
I remember my 84 300ZX talked telling me stuff like "Fuel level is low" (no shit bitch! thats why Im pushing it to the gas station!) I can hear it now..."You are either drunk, or too stupid to drive...please try again later"
Oh, Tim I forgot to tell you after you left there was a black 89+ turbo parked across the sreet as well.
Swaq, now that the students are back there might even be a few more supras around here for all we know. But we should get together for a little mini meet anyways. If we can get an extra...
ROFL!
Dude, stick to fixin cars!
Try this on for size:
I dont know if was Nietzsche or Nero
But this guy in a Supra became my new hero
He tried his hand at making a rhyme
The problem it seemed? Not enough time!
You see, it was a transmission he was fixin'
but it wasnt for him...
He stripped you of the title, but not the "winner" status. You will always be that.
As for your problem, I know next to nothing about automatics except that when they start slipping...they umm..........need fixing!?
Hey Joe, you might remember me. You guys came to my house when you had that thing on the trailer, and I also saw ya at Keith's house up in Portland. Im glad to see your making some progress and it sounds like your taking your time and getting it done in good fasion.
I still have that front...
contrary to some advice here, just lubing the slides MAY not fix the problem. One of the last posters hit on a possible problem that I in fact have on one of my front calipers. I redid both slides on my left front brake and I still have pad hang. Its because the piston is not returning (its only...
