when i pulled the motor out of my 86.5 i used Engine Bright engine degreaser on the entire bay. it was absolutely spotless. it looked brand new! it didnt harm the paint at all either. get those "rags in a box" things and a can of Engine Bright. it literally looks amazing when you're done...

you have a couple of options here. if the door sensor is NOT fried:
close the door with it unlocked
put your key in the door, then lock it.
wait a minute or so, then unlock it.
when you cycle locking/unlocking the door like this, it is supposed to reset the alarm.

the fuel pump is the same. i did a turbo swap into my N/A (and its an 86.5=old) and i had no fuel issues. i was still running pig rich.
its still not a bad idea to change it out w/ a new one though, figuring its at least 12 years old.

i thought the only difference between the N/A block and Turbo block was:
lack of oil squirters
pistons/compression ratio
and maybe a few fittings for oil lines and whatnot.
i didnt think that an N/A block would affect oil pressure... unless the N/A oilpump pushes more oil?
