In the 7m you might want to qualify that by adding you use whatever Clevite can source and put in their own boxes as they don't produce M series bearings any more....
Yep it's just a surpressor, there's one on the Hatch glass heater as well and a couple of others throughout the car, must have had some noise on the line back to the ECU at some stage.

The whole low pressure/hi volume thing is a fallacy.....
It's a normal system that is taxed by the amount of controlled leaks added over the years, the bigger GTE pump helps some but not enough so you see a pressure drop at low RPM.
It's a Bonded Damper, over the years the bond fails and the outer ring slips giving an incorrect TDC and in extreme cases the ring comes off/explodes..

It's more the hole and flapper size that's the issue, 3540r was the same, way too small once you got up in flow and easily blown off the seat.
With an ext gate and and EBC you put xx boost into the spring side of the diaphram to raise boot, ie: 10psi spring + 5 psi boost = 15psi.
