    Texas bound! anyone wanna ride?

I know this is EXTREMELY short notice but I am leaving Saturday morning on my way to Houston. I expect to make it there by the 15th. If anyone wants a ride I have lots of room in the '07 Suburban (DVD in cabin as well). Even if you want a ride part way. I will taking I5 south to Bakersfield then...

    targa off = wobbly car????

Yeah man, as I said in your other thread, I hope you do it, if for no other reason than to see it done and how it turns out. I hope it makes even a sliver of difference, because it would allow for alternatives that allow us targa owners to really feel confident about our chassis. My defence of...

Gonna try this: Urethane foam for targa chassis - advice?

I would be willing to try it on a car I didnt care much about, but my fear would be...What if I dont like what it does or in essence ruins the car in some way. I mean, once you put that stuff inside the frame its never coming out (especially the 16lb stuff). If it did develop squeaks over time...

    targa off = wobbly car????

right, the targa bars are going to pierce your cranium, your shift knob is going to penetrate your rectum, the steering column is going to crush your chest, the front windshield is going to sever your corroded artery... you watch too much TV man! sure in an accident any number of things...

    targa off = wobbly car????

Thats one of the stupidest things I have yet to hear for a reason not to have a targa brace. so you think getting T-boned with an unpadded brace is worse than what exactly? Getting T-boned with Zero protection? or getting T-boned and thinking some 1/4" padded cardboard insert in your hardtop is...

Thanks for that offer, but I quit drinking about a year ago. I'll let you buy my diet soda though...lol After feeling sorry for myself and being mad at myself for only a couple of hours Ive decided to make this a positive thing. It means I get to do my full build sooner than I had planned. The...

Its blown...trust me. I went and bought a combustion leak tester. While I was doing the test and warming up the car with the radiator cap off...I looked up to see a huge cloud of smoke (steam) coming out the back. Apparently running it without the back pressure in the coolant system let the...

    Lucy - Im home!

Ugh, and I thought I had bad luck. Its not that big of a deal for me. I have all the fabrication done now. Also since Ive now done it once I know how to do it, and it should take less time and be alot easier. Only difference is that Im going to pull the whole engine, strip it down and have a...

BHG for me :3d_frown: I guess my deck prep sucked. So, I got a bad pump right out of the box, (or a bad regulator), my HG job was crap, and I get to start all over. No TX2K7 for me. I dont know what I want to do now, besides cry. looks like a full rebuild is gonna come sooner than...

    fuel pressure bleed off

well if the pump is bad for that reason, it would need to be replaced anyway. If thats the case then doing further testing on the fuel system would be unneccessary until the pump is replaced. Or is this logic flawed? Also like I said before Im only mentally reapiring the car. I am out of time...

    fuel pressure bleed off

they are all great ideas, but is everyone just ignoring the fact that Im mainly concerned about the pressure dropping to zero? I was trying to find the answer to the question: "is a bad check valve in the fuel pump the only way pressure can bleed off that fast?" or am I missing something. Is...

    fuel pressure bleed off

Well first of all, Ive had the tank out a couple of times now and I can drop it in less than 15 minutes. I consider that to be less work than digging my way to the fuel lines on the rail to do a flow test. Besides, Im not sure what that would tell me as the major concern is the lack of any...

    Lucy - Im home!

Im pretty disheartened right now. Im beginning to wish I had never started this. I shoulda just done a CT upgrade and called it a day. Im back to no boost. Car shuts down violently with some backfire as soon as it starts to spool. Checked for boost leaks, but havent found any. A/F ratios are...

    fuel pressure bleed off

yeah I tried that as well. I can keep it running now, its supplying a constant feed of fuel. I hooked up the SAFC and tuned a little. Im definately unhappy with my car, but Im pretty sure I have my question answered here on this topic. Im going to try putting the stocker back in.

Ok, well I played with the boost controller a little. I can see Im gonna need some help getting it all set up, but I managed to build boost......12 lbs peak and it shot forward like rocket! Of course I hit fuel cut, I assume from the smaller AFM. I'll get my SAFC hooked up, switch AFM's...
