    Thay're grounds and usually bolt up under the intake above the starter, seen people hook em up to the Starter + post before....

    Why "surprised"?? At best most of these cars will have been flushed and have never had a proper service, it's amazing any of them still work ;) Don't forget to clean the magnets when you're in the pan, a low cost "Mod" is a Cruiser Pan and Filter Screen it add's a Qt of oil.

    It'll be fine if you don't beat on it too hard, there are a few small differences that increase the load capacity of the GTE 340, more clutches in a couple of the packs and so on.

    Does it sound like a BLOWN HG? Does the head look bad? Or a CRACKED Block?

    None of the cylinders look to be steam cleaned (easy way to spot a BHG or cracked head/block)
