The mileage looks better because the spedo is off, not because you are really getting better milage. You are not actually traveling as far as the odometer says you are.

The higher the ratio, the faster the engine revs will be at any given vehicle speed. The higher the ratio the worse the gas mileage will be for freeway driving. If you do a lot of freeway driving or want top speed go with a 3.7:1 If you drag race or want to get better accelleration then go...

You were right, copper did rub off on that crank. I checked it with a micrometer and it is .040" smaller then all the rest! Its in the trash now.

That's how many I have fixed! Actually I only started collecting them recently, its a few more then that.

If any of the rod bearings were not sized correctly if could have rod knock the first time it was started. Lots of things could cause it from a machine shop mistake but I doubt it was anything you did wrong. I know that sucks so I sympathize with you :wtc:

Im sorry, I thought you had forged pistons but I was thinking of someone else. I would be worried then.
