I'm a bit smaller than you Justin and I would love to have a z06, but that's not going to happen. A turbo on a C5 might happen though...............:evil2:
Justin, it started smoking on the way but like I said it was minimal. It mainly only smoked on decel though and then it gradually got worse. Most of it was fuel though because it was running rich. I filled up a lot of times on the way to Texas, but I never used anything but 93 octane, or at...
Joe, I don't know what the compression was. I know it was not correct since I used a stock 1jz head gasket and the machinist said he removed like six thousandts off of the block and he also resurfaced the head. I should have went with at least a two millimeter head gasket I think. Who knows? I...
You can start by reading this. It should answer a lot of your questions and then you can report back with some unanswered ones.

Aaron said my timing map was not pretty, but I don't remember him saying it was too high. As a matter of fact I remember Chris (Gixxer) saying that it was pretty conservative.
IJ, I honestly need an interpreter........sorry.
Traitor is a very strong word, and it's not like I've sold my car or anything. I will get it running again some day, but I've got to at least figure out what the hell caused it to break. I can't keep building something just to have it tear up and blow three thousand dollars everytime I turn...
The cam are set as follows. Exhaust +8 degrees and the intake is -4degrees.
The car has NEVER ran lean under boost. It has ran lean under normal driving before but this was after the fact. I ran it home lean on purpose to keep as much smoke as possible from exiting my exhaust so the people...
It's that time. I'm off to the bank to sign my life away. It's been a long time since I've had a car payment. Pictures will be up later if I can get it clean enough.
Ryan, I sent you the link........not supramania........:3d_frown:
IJ, breaking parts is no fun at all........especially when you don't know exactly how you broke them.
IJ, you know spelling owns me. You've always wanted an LS1 in your supra, now I have one in a vette even though it's not the same thing. Maybe you can help me figure out how to turbo it...............please!!!!
Nothing is holding me back except for the knowledge I must not have. I just built it last month and it didn't even last two thousand miles. I'm sure I'll build it again but I don't know when and in the meantime I need something to drive other than my F150
IJ, you know I don't understand...
You have more money than I do Mr. Fonz. I"m only paying $14,500 for mine and it's modded just right. I'm also getting a great finance rate because my aunt works at the bank.
I don't blame you Grim, but it's purely conincidental. I'm meeting the guy at 5:00 when he gets off work so we can get...
No, sorry Turbo. I really doubt that I part it out because I love the car too much for that, but I'm really tore up about the destruction of my newly built motor. I don't have the money to keep rebuilding and upgrading and I could never be happy with a stock motor.
After having numerous problems with my car lately I couldn't decide what to do. I was thinking about going with a full 2jz build, but that's going to cost me a good bit to do it the way I want it. I really don't have the time right now to tackle this so I'm going to put the supra on the back...
Nobody jumped Jay. I don't know what we're talking about. Do you mean somebody outran me, because that didn't happen either. I met Nicky and talked with him a good bit, but he didn't jump me unless that's some strange Texas nickname for communicating with...........:biglaugh:
Have you tried installing another ground maybe to the back of the head or the manifold? My car was missing pretty bad at idle until I added three or four ground wires and then it purred like a kitten. Just a thought.
They were all within tolerance when I put them on and I really dont want to reinstall it right now. I will only put it back on when it's rebuilt and finished. Thanks for your help.
