Heat shield for oil catch can idea

yes. the oil/water vapors (yes, i said water vapors) WONT condense if the can is hot, thus completely defeating it's purpose. i have mine mounted to the right of the brake booster (looking from under the hood) nice and cool over there. ;) -shaeff

Mechanic dont know what to tell me

code 52 doesnt indicate engine knock. it indicates that there's a short in the knock sensor circuit. basically, either (you have an N/A block, so one knock sensor) your KS is fried, or the wiring is messed up. rewire the KS, and check the actual sensor for output voltage with a multimeter, clear...

    Calibrating electronic boost gauges?

that sucks! there's no way to remove the gauge face is there? if you could do that, perhaps you could simply pop the needle off, and replace it at the right mark? :( -shaeff

LED Bulb Replacement Writeup for Gauge Cluster and Interior

something people should note, that i forgot to post about the gauge cluster in my truck: if you have a pre '89 gauge cluster, and convert it to red, you'll have a very hard time determining what the redline is, as it basically disappears when illuminated at night. (experiencing this on my...

    Calibrating electronic boost gauges?

brent, is it possible to remove the gauge face, and just move the needle? i've never used an electric boost gauge before, so i'm shooting in the dark here. i assume there's no adjustment on the sending unit? -shaeff

    Knock Sensor Code 52

yeah. sure do. :) havent had anyone order one in a few months, though. i dont really promote it. turbodriz, look in the misc vendor's section, probably all the way at the bottom of page 2. there's info on it there. i've got one that's almost complete. PM me for details, as this is not a...

    Knock Sensor Code 52

bypassing the knock sensor(s) is a bad idea. ;) you should just do the SOGI rewire, found here: http://www.supras.com/06/techcenter/display.php?QID=69 also, where in NY are you? i might have asked you that before, but i lost the thread. :p -shaeff

    Running hot....?

i used every JDM sensor on my motor, except for the oil pressure sending unit, and everything functions 100% on mine. it wouldnt be different for the JDM sensors because only the oil pressure gives you an actual value, unlike the water temp, that just sits at half mast, and thats normal...

Can I run a Walbro 255 on the stock system?

drill out the J-pipe, and you should be alright. you *MIGHT* run a little more rich with the wally, and no way to adjust it. your stock regulator will be ok. -shaeff

    Running hot....?

either a fried sensor, or the wire is grounding out somewhere. check that stuff. most commonly, code 51 means your TPS is out of adjustment. -shaeff
