"Billet" wheels don't actually spool faster, they have more fin area due to the slimmer/smaller hub so move more air so "lag" feels like it's reduced ;)
Might be a different matter if it were a Turbine wheel we were discussing.
PMoI on the Billet wheel might be lower but I'm guessing the...
You're welcome!
I actually went to the trouble of doing some drawings taking pics and sending PWR a stock Rad for a pattern, Mishi might benefit from this approach as they seem "willing" to work with the customers on this.
I use a couple of pry bars and it pops out, reused the snaps quite a few times as I was too lazy to drive to Toyota ;)
(snap rings actually hold the whole Stub axle in, that drawing is deceptive, the seal/cover end up at the flange end when installed with the seal staying in the pumpkin and the...
Might want to pull your head in there sparky....:nono:
(I have 2x LS's)
You don't actually have a clue what you want and don't have the $ to fund it so it was just a suggestion from someone that has "been there done that"..
Fins can get blocked with leaves/bugs and crap over time and it sneaks up on you, get a warm day and off the needle goes where it's never been before....
This is what I meant by "marginal cooling system" in my 1st post.
Pop the Stub axle out (it's held in with a clip) so you can work on it on the bench.
If you have a spare diff just swap in the stub if you can get a stud just open a vise enough so the back end of the stud is just held then smack it hard with a hammer where it's broken, it should pop out.
No it's one of the 2 marked "bushing" it's in fact a bearing, the circled hole is for the arm with the ball joint end on it.
Another important point when working on these is to NOT tighten any of the factory bushings until the cars weight is on the ground or you'll tear the centres out in a...
Plastic undertray goes from the Lip to the Rad support then to the crossmember, car will run +5c with it missing and if your cooling system is marginal to begin with this is often enough to tip it over at highway speeds as the air can bypass the radiator.
