so, will- next time i come down, we'll put the headgasket in, torque it down, and, re-assemble the motor. depending on how early i come down, we could probably wire it all back up, too. :)

chances are that the little metal tabs that the eccentric lobes rotate in are bent. it happens. pull the setup apart, bend them straight again using vice grips and a hammer. (don't break them off!) and run a bead of weld right behind them on the outside to prevent them from pushing out again...
