When I got mine, my fuel pump relay wasn't connected........but that wouldn't keep it from firing. It would just keep you from getting gas.

Maybe the map has something to do with it running so rich. Are you sure you don't have any loose vacuum lines or ic pipes? I wish I was more help, but God made me extremely pretty and not so bright............:sarcasm:
