Very nice, indeed. My very first new car was almost one of these. Instead I bought a Saturn base model sedan. I guess my cheap and practical side won out... until I bought my Supra. :)
Looks great - have fun and get it muddy this weekend!
OMG! A 30 round clip? You must be a freaking terrorist, running around with that kind of firepower! And I suppose you load it up with hollow points, which are only useful for killing. You should be shot with your own gun just to protect the rest of us!
Ahem... SARCASM! :-p
:D
I embarrass the hell out of my kids (and wife) by rapping a little and calling myself "Special K" - complete with with hand signs. :bigthumb:
And you think you're white, CK. Oh baby, am I white. :D
I'm seriously considering a rebuild on the original engine, Jon, and it keeps looking like $1500 to $2000 with me doing the work. :(
The only other thing that I know to try is to replace the valve stem seals with the extra set I have, but if the guides are the problem then what? Should I...
Weird coincidence. I had my first ever Montecristo last night as a gift from my neighbor who got a box on his last trip to the Dom Republic. VERY good! I thought it had a really nice flavor, but still mellow - not harsh at all. I didn't know it was Cuban.
3p, etc: Actually I forgot to give the shop my Toyota seals and by the time I called them to say I was going to drop them off they had already installed new ones, so they are probably not Toyota.
I'm going to buy an engine stand today and start tearing down the other block in my garage so...
Right you are, Kylar. TSRM says the head's got to come off to check/replace the guides.
I hate to ::dead horse:: , but lets go back to the PCV system. My PCV pipes are FULL of sludge, and I'm still lost as to what causes this, whether this is really causing my blue smoke problem, what the...
CK - Can guides be replaced without pulling the head, like seals? I can't stand the thought of pulling the farging head again, but I want this fixed! I'll take a look at the TSRM in the meantime.
Does anybody have anything to say about a properly working PCV system? What goes wrong, how is...
What, is this the freaking 50's? You can't "cure" gayness, but I'm secure enough to still talk to you guys anyway. :biglaugh:
Nice start Ryan, and I don't care what everybody else says. Can't wait to see how she looks. :bigthumb:
Jay - Thanks for the kind words. Hopefully things won't get worse before they get better, but for others reading this: Here's your warning on 'JDM swaps'.
CK - I couldn't tell you whether they did the guides or not. I am certain that the seals were part of the deal, tho
Fuzz - The thing...
I've searched this, and found some common ideas, but almost never when somebody completely worked the issue out. So without further ado, here's what I've done so far:
1 1/2 years ago: BHG repair, rebuilt head, new valve stem seals done by a reputable machine shop.
~ 2 months ago: Little...
Read through this, and then send to Jon to have it done right and you'll end up thanking yourself. ;)

I got a chance to see my very own turbo rebuilt by Jon last week, and while it's true that "there isn't all...
