That should buff out with some steel wool.............:sarcasm:
I'd definately let a machinist make that decission for me, but the crank looks pretty scratched up.
We have almost the exact same setup. I have a gt35r which is supposedly close to a 61mm. I do know that it is an awesome turbo though since I had it on my 1jz. With the jz, I made 443rwhp @ 17psi through a manual, so I'm hoping the half liter will take up for what the auto eats.
It won't see five hundred anytime soon unless I decide to install methanol at a later date. As of right now my goal for this car is only four hundred through the automatic which should make it very quick.
As for Texas, I'm not sure. I know I want to take mine, but I don't know if I can...
George had used this set before with no problems and felt good about using it again. I had a toyota rear main seal and two cam shaft seals from Toyota and they look EXACTLY alike......same color, size, and markings. I'm not saying they are the same, but they looked like a great set. If this...
I just rebuilt George's 7m for him and it cost him this:
machine work, honing block, installing new rings and bearings.........450.00
newly rebuilt head..................................................................395.00
titan 1.2mm head...
Will this kit here work for the relocation? It's a generic kit, but should work since nobody has any suggestions yet.
Robert, I'm not really that worried about the fuel cut since I don't think she'll need more than 15psi to make pretty close to 400rwhp.
You lost me grim. I'm using an aftermarket manifold with a t4 flange on it, but it won't go on with the stock oil filter flange on there. I've taken it off so that I can get my manifold on already. I'm going to order a relocation kit for the oil filter though. I don't know if I'll ever get my...
I bought the Ray Bestos blue kit from IPT and I also had them rebuild the valve body.
Did you guys that run an aftermarket turbo have to relocate your oil filter? I can't even get the manifold I bought to go on there. I'm looking at this relocation kit unless someone else has a better...
Thanks Mike, if and when it tears up again, I will. When I said I'd be tearing it apart, I meant the turbo assembly and down pipe. Hopefully this trans is going to last her for a while though.
Thanks for the other comments as well, and Jeff, I'll take pictures as I go. They probably won't be as good as the one's George's camera took, but hopefully they won't be in black and white.
Did you hit your head on the steering wheel when you came out of boost? It's your camera silly and you took most of the pictures. I knew getting old was going to be tough, but you're scaring me now...........:biglaugh:
Do you have the R154? The auto is probably going to be her only limitation on horsepower. It's probably a great tranny, but I don't know how long it will take the abuse of 450rwhp or there abouts.
I took Vonda's car out for one last drive before I tear out the old turbo. The new turbo should start going on sometime tomorrow if I get through with work in time.
Here's one of yours truly.
I doubt the clutch and pressure plate are the issue. You can reuse them if they're fairly new. I'd replace the throw out bearing and double check the parts Poo mentioned.
I'm hoping the built A340e will like the new added horsepower. I don't really look forward to rebuilding it again. I've spent two grand on just the tranny so it should be good to go for at least a year or so...........hopefully longer.
I'll be tearing it down today or tomorrow. I'll try to get...
