Good luck finding a v160 for two grand.
As for holding up to a thousand hp. That's going to be hard, but if you can afford to make that much hp then you'll be alright. there's a big difference in making six hundred and making a thousand reliably. I wish you the best though.
You don't even have the car yet, so take your time and find something in the classifieds here or locally. Sometimes you can buy whole cars for five hundred dollars. I've got one in my yard right now that I paid five hundred dollars for with a 7mgte and a r154. All you've got to do is be patient...
Use the 7m unless you have an assload of money sitting around. You can do thd jz swap for five grand, but you can also build one hell of a 7m for a lot less and have money left over for a few extras. I have a jz motor, but I also love me some 7ms.
There's been a few guys make 800rwhp through an r154. There's been more make it through the v160 and if I had to guess, I'd say the v160 is stronger, but it's also roughly 8 times the cost of an r154.
Definately needs a tune Aaron, but congrats non the less. George didn't make as much as you and he has a t67. I tuned it, which could be the problem, but he only made 409 @ 17 psi. His pull lots a lot cleaner than yours which is why a tune will help you out a lot. Good luck.
It's those litttle mile stones that get us through life Miguel...........:biglaugh:
congrats on getting better. Now if you don't eat for a week, youll be in the low 31's. Gravity isn't my friend since I weigh about two hundred pounds. I do love go karts though. We went when we were at the...
What are you using as a two step? Is it on a standalone or something else? Just curious. I don't have mine working yet with the Stinger, but if I did, I would still be slipping it.
The R154 is a great tranny once you've replaced the weak links. There are numerous threads on here regarding these.
You can go here and see what Aaron has to offer for the R154.

Also, if you buy a clutch for the 2jz like the...
Seems like this is what happens when the capacitors go bad. I think www.driftmotion.com is redoing them if you send them in. I don't know how much it cost, and it may be something you can do yourself if you're willing to take it on. Good luck either way.
I'm pretty sure I gave my ecu away...
:biglaugh:.......maybe your fingers were going quicker than your brain.
Yz.....leave the timing where it is. There's no sense in tearing up your car for five more horses.
Honestly, you should do a lot of search on both swaps, but the 1jz is pretty expensive. You can buy a 7mgte for far less and with proper maintenance it is a great motor. Good luck.
There are plenty of threads in here about people doing 1jz swaps that you will find very informative. Thanks and...
