you crossed the amp power wire with the remote wire. there could be one strand touching, that's all it takes. my brother did the same thing. basically, you're powering the radio from the amp side. it's a little backwards, but it happens sometimes.

also your hatch. use the R/G/R method i found very effective Remove/Goop/Replace! using clear(or black if you're careful) RTV R/G/R the following items: hatch window trim, taillights, spoiler, and rear wiper seal thingy.
