I have a type s. Love it. i leave it on the softest possible adjustment.
It really doesnt matter if its adjustable or not as long as its a quality bov. IF it is adjustable you just adjust as soft as possible where it doesnt open at idle or before you hit full boost.
If it was too low yes. Can be low enough that it blows hot and compressor comes on.
Also could be a bad compressor.

It is. But 1 and 2 only support 1 high current coil driver unless you mod it some how. Where as the ms3 supports 8 logic level coils. So you can have 8 smart coils and sequential ignition or have a ignitor driving 8 coil on plug in sequential.

Have you checked for stored codes?
When it dies jump fp and b+ in the diag box and go listen for the pump to be running. IF it is its not your problem.
