Youre sure the fuses are ALL good, you tested them with a continuity meter and not just looking. They can blow in places that are hard to see sometimes. If not check the dimmer switch for voltage, if you have voltage there pull out the gauge cluster and check for voltage at the harness, and if...
try hooking up a mechanical gauge to the sender port to make sure your gauge is reading right. Clogged filter would generally cause high oil pressure i would think. from what i hear when you get a bhg and the car runs a lot with the watery oil (if it blew into the oil passage) it loses its...
hook up an oil pressure gauge, you might have low pressure at idle. Mine has really low pressure at idle but normal at all other rpms. If i blip the throttle to the floor when its idleing at around 750 rpms i hear a light knock, not sure if thats cause of my oil pressure or what, but ya, put a...
Question: Does snakeing the wiring for the temp gauge though the intake manifold where its hot make enough resistance to affect the reading? Im having an issue where the gauge seems to be reading a little bit below the actual temp, unless im doing something wrng with the temp gun which is...
i vote master cylinder/air. When you press the pedal and it slowly sinks to the floor it indicates fluid leaking past the piston in the master cylinder, assuming you have no external leaks
I had read something somewhere about running strait water after a headgasket job to help it seal or something like that? Do you have any idea what im talking about or am i insane
if you think about it, if youve got approx. 5 psi at 750 rpm i wouldnt expect much if any at ~300-400 rpm. Even if theres almost no pressure you should still have flow though.
cat has got to stay lol. Need to pass emissions and i dont have a spare good cat. as for the exhaust if i just delete the resonator how will it affect the sound?
I have a stock exhaust on my 87 na and i see that after the cat theres two mufflers. I was looking for an exhaust tone a little beefier than how it is stock, and i was wondering how it would sound if i deleted the first in-line muffler or replaced it with a strait through magnaflow i have...
might be worth the time to take out the gauge cluster and check the connections on the back, theres screws that hold the temp gauge in which also act as contacts for power.
ive done all the sparkplugs with NGK's, left the wires, cleaned the rotor contact and the contacts in the cap. They didnt seem to be especailly worn or anything either. Only thing i havent done is the wires, and i will do a resistance test when i get the chance.
Base timeing is set to 10...
nope, both are clean as can be, not losing any of either, not fast at least. I did a compression test but only on the number 1 and number 6 cylinders, both were fine although i forgot the numbers
Ive noticed i have a small oil leak on my 7m. I used to have oil going into the spark plug area but i fixed the allen seals and also fixed the valve cover gaskets. Those are all sealed up and good. When i go under the car i see a small drop hanging from the very bottom of the transmission. I...
i didnt pull anything out of thin air, i simply stated that when an oil pan is overfilled it can get to the point where it will be whipped up by the crank. This is stated in every book that ive ever read.
