Maft pro owners ...I have a question????

Although I don't have a MAFT-Pro I do have 5 guages and a turbo timer and I drilled a hole just below the clutch master cylinder, nice and dry so I never have to worry about water or anything getting up in there. I have also heard of people running wires through where the factory wiring harness...

    Sell MK3 and get MK4?

Sounds like a rip off anyway, your car, a bike and 10k for a crashed mk4 with an engine no one knows anything about, runs on low oil and coolant and a shot suspension? Uhh... I don't think so.

    Aftermarket harmonic damper ?

IIRC he said it was very expensive to have it made, so be prepared for a shock to the wallet.

    Overheating persists!

So were you able to trace where the leak was coming from? I know there is a low of stuff right there that could potentally leak but aside from going berzerk and replacing everything you just have to try and find it, I think.

rear seat delete COMPLETED turbo timer install (PICS!!!)

:werd: I was going to say the same thing. The box in the back looks nice though! I would never do that but your job looks pretty high quality. BTW, where can you buy that spray adhesive stuff?

    wastegate muffler?

I think you should see what it sounds like before you make any decisions here. You never know, you might like the way it sounds!

    Overheating persists!

Can you see any puddling/dripping of coolant after the motor has cooled? Is anything wet?

It really is not that bad. Just take your time and go by the manual; you'll be fine.

    Turbo Transmission and LSD

R154 with no fluid is just 100lbs IIRC... with fluid add a couple lbs but still nowhere near 140.

    pilot bushing?

There was no way that method was going to work for me. It was a struggle for me to get mine out with the tool it was so tight.

    pilot bushing?

I did, and I had no problem. I have heard cases of them breaking though and I don't know for sure why they did but I'm reccomending new ones to you to be on the safe side. SST is a special service tool. You can see it and the part number here...

    Tuning option?

If you find out when the ECU goes in to open loop mode(of course, this would be for people like myself who will be tuning with a wideband/datalogger in the car on their own) the ECU won't learn over when your tuning setup was since its not learning anything and you are simply adjusting what it...

    pilot bushing?

Nope, there is no bushing. Before you start though, I reccommend getting the SST to pull out that bearing, it is expensive but it prevents one hell of a headache. Your clutch kit should come with a new TOB, and pilot bearing. You should only need to get new snap rings and the wavy spring/washer...

It was a BHG, it was a DIY! - Thx to all.

Congrats! Hopefully it will hold for much longer. (Get that water leak fixed!) BTW, what exactly did you do? resurface? OEM or MHG? ARPs or stockers?

    More Oil Leaks

Oil pressure is based solely on RPM, so you shouldn't have to be driving to make the leak reveal itself. Have someone hold it at ~3000 RPM and watch to see if you can find out whats going on. There shouldn't be any pressure in the oil pan so unless you have huge blow by problems and your PCV...

    Tuning option?

Sounds interesting, but I don't think I would ever sacrafice the ECU's ability to compensate for all different weather conditions and make sure you are always in the safe zone; this is of course assuming that the car would run remotely well without the 02 sensor being hooked up. Especially for...
