    emissions ugh.

Fix the code 22. That is by far the best move at this point. The ECU temp sensor is on the thermostat flange. It may be as simple as a broken wire at the connector there. With the sensor bad you would not expect optimal emissions performance.

    emissions ugh.

So no code 22, right? Well 3-4 V could be normal (i.e. 2.5 - 3.75V) but its still worth checking. Is it a turbo? To check for an air leak start by looking for tears in rubber pipes, loose clamps and so on. Its more likely to be an issue with the turbo because of all the extra...

    emissions ugh.

Okay, I'm confused. 1) Did you get a code 22? If so, that needs to be fixed. To get a code 22 the sensor has to be really screwed up (short or open). Driveability when cold with a code 22 will not be good as the ECU ignores the sensor and assumes a warm engine. To check codes you connect TE1...

    best way to splice ECU

The only issue with heat shrink (tubing) is that you need a free end to slip it over the wire. For splices, that is not always possible especially if you are not cutting the wire as mentioned above.

    emissions ugh.

That's too bad. The O2 reading would be helpful. The good news is that your car is running closed loop, and the A/F ratio is close to 14.7. Let us know on the items I mentioned previously.

    emissions ugh.

Please post your oxygen reading too, then we can try to figure out your A/F ratio. We are assuming you have no ECU codes set, so please confirm that. Also, as mentioned timing needs to be at 10 deg in diag mode. Also, you will want to do a few simple tests. First, hopefully you have access to...

    best way to splice ECU

I like self vulcanizing rubber tape. Stuff never comes apart once its wrapped. http://www.doityourself.com/invt/8316879

Post up the numbers and we can help. Otherwise, forget it. And don't replace your cat, there's lots of other cheaper reasons to fail that need to be ruled out first.

    what really happened to mkiiitech.

Bad management. Wouldn't be surprised if they are about to go under.

    yellow connector inside glovebox

Those colors are the same as used for the A/C Short Pin which is used for A/C diagnostics. http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Library/TEWD/MK3/manual.aspx?Section=Main&Page=142 However, I didn't think it was part of the engine harness, so I am not really 100% sure on this one. Does the connector...

    Temp Gauge Calibration

JJ, the nonlinear behavior is built in to the gauge. To see this, I have attached a plot of gauge current versus FSD for the gauge by itself. I will have to pull it apart to see what is going on. I agree the gauge is fast, and it seems well built to.

    Temp Gauge Calibration

If you ever wondered what the stock temp gauge was trying to tell you, here it is. It is designed so that it basically doesn't move over an operating range of about 90 to 110 degC, then it shoots up. Basically its useless except as an overheat indicator. PS. the y axis is plotted as a...

    My very own wiring nightmare

Okay. By the way , the stop lights, power windows, taillights, radio, and pretty much everything else are fed from the fusible link box under the hood to two junction boxes in the left kick panel through connectors 1A-3 and 2A-1. I suspect you will find your gremlin in that circuit. If...

    My very own wiring nightmare

I don't really understand the question. The ground for the master PW SW is D, which is at J/B#1 set bolt as specified on page 151. Am I missing something?

    My very own wiring nightmare

My suggestion to the grounds question is to debug your problems one by one. If there are ground issues you will find them systematically. Here are the grounds for the whole car. You can see it is quite complex. Toyota is quite careful with its grounding, and typically has built-in redundancy...

    My very own wiring nightmare

Good, then lets take a look at the stop lights. The basic circuit is trivial, if you ignore the failure sensor for the moment. http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Library/TEWD/MK3/manual.aspx?Section=Main&Page=074 Note that the source of power to the stop lights is the STOP fuse located in the left...

ebay recirculated DDP - fitment and specs?

Its looks very similar to the Truspeed downpipe that was sold 2 years ago (with the addition of the DDP function). The Truspeed pipe needed a bolt hole modification (the seller was upfront about it) and the flanges machined flat before it could be used, but mine in the end fits fine.
