I'll see if I can find the label. I don't have a picture of it handy.

    CLAY BAR crisperience...

When you buy an HKS exhaust they give you a sticker just like that. I wonder if that is where it came from?

Who here is running an MR2 alternator in their car?

By the way, a typical Lundell type auto alternator has an efficiency of 40 - 50 %.

Who here is running an MR2 alternator in their car?

The equation is simple: Divide the fan power (Watts) by the alternator efficiency and you have your drag in Watts (convert to HP by dividing by 746 W/HP).

    R.I.P.

That $1.5M Enzo has a carbon fiber shell. You could drop it out of an airplane and it would still be intact.

    R.I.P.

Yeah we know. If it has been 120mph the car would be in a box.

    R.I.P.

Yeah, maybe I should have said 120+ mph. I think the exact speed is probably unknown given the circumstances.

    R.I.P.

Yes it is. The crash site is about 15 miles from where I live. Quite a soap-opera on this $1.5M part out. You can read about it here. http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/News/articleId=115581

This is what happens when you hit a pole at 120mph

    Cam layout discussion

There has been work on both hydraulic and electric solenoid actuated poppet valves for a long time with the aim to eliminate the cam and completely divorce valve timing from crank position.

    Pagin JetJock: Servo motor info

CAN has some twists over Ethernet that make it a bit tricky. In particular, CAN prioritizes traffic (obviously important in a real-time system like a car) by implementing so-called bitwise arbitration to handle collisions. Timing is also done in a rather unique way since each node has its own...

    Cam layout discussion

Some Fiat road cars (typically the sport series) from post WWI used DOHC engines. While these were not high volume in the sense of Ford, they were true production cars sold and licensed for road use. Doward's statement that OHC predates OHC by 30 years was not correct, but both technologies...

    blown EFI fuse.....HELP!! please

Another common one is the harness rubbing through the insulation where is goes across the intake manifold from the firewall. It should be supported off the intake runners by several wire clips, but they disintegrate over time.

Brake Problems?? or something else? please help

I would think that air in the system would cause a soft pedal, not what you describe. If it were me, I would take it to the dealer and have them run the actuator diagnostics described here. Or by a used actuator and replace it if the dealer is too horrible a thought to entertain. I've seen...

How much do you pay for a new can of R12?

How much do you pay for a new can of R12?

Time for a history lesson. The patents for safe refrigerants were issued in the 1930's and were all expired in the 1950's. Dupont had no monopoly on R12 production, and the major manufacturers of R134 today are not the same bunch who made R12 previously. I could go on, but why bother, just read...

How much do you pay for a new can of R12?

hey Ric, how many people on here have a $200 vac pump? Not so cheap if you don't already have an investment in HVAC gear.

I think he is talking about the check valve in the brake booster. But, you already swapped out the booster as I recall.

power steering idle air control valve ??

It doesn't need any vacuum! Its an air bleed to the surge tank to increase idle speed when the PS pressure exceeds ~1000psi at full lock. That's right, that little valve handles 1000psi, which is why it costs so much. Read all about it here...
