Code 71 is EGR temp sensor problem for California certified cars only? Since you say the EGR is removed, this is hardly surprising. Won't be the cause of your problems though. Is your SSQV recirculated?
LEDs working one minute and off the next are due to cold solder joints in the CC. This is a common problem and can be solved by resoldering the LEDs in place with a good multi-core electronics grade solder.

TIV is a JWS 3309 spec oil. I know for a fact that Dexron III in a tranny requiring JWS 3309 (like recent Aisin 5 and 6 speeds ) will cause failure in short order.
Whether it is backwards compatible I don't know, but I would stick with Dexron III for the A340E unless you are sure TIV is...
The number of lamps the box expects to see and their wattage is written directly on it.
i.e. 27Wx5, 8Wx4 (five 27Watt stop bulbs and four 8Watt tail lamps) would be for an NA with conventional (not LED) center mount stop light.
