30 years ago, I probably would have figured that out.. lol. In the old days we used to send everything out for chrome. Now.. its not thought of as eco-friendly I think. Powder coating and ceramic coating seem to be the thing. You just cant beat the polished look though.
There is a turbo issue with poorly tuned engines I believe whereas the engine will go rich between shifts if I understand my car correctly.. and then... because its a Supra.. I have to have the boost maxed all the time.. I generally get around 15-18 mpg.. but the car will do well on the highway...
wow.. love that PS reservoir. That is soooo beyond stock :)
No idea where you find this stuff.. but you definitely have good taste. Because I am stuck with the 7M.. I will keep my jealous remarks about the carbon fibre to myself.. lol
RHD is not for me. :)
And .. putting a car on rail from the center of the Universe isn't necessarily a bad idea.. providing the car is as good as it is supposed to be (and thats very rare in my experience.. lol)
in Canada, they all (except maybe about 10 - guessing) have shitty shells.. something to do with how people like driving in the winter or something. :)
but your right, they US has far better shells (with engines, etc) and I am probably better going abroad and bringing it back. I am at 12,000...
Boostcraver, I will pm you if I purchase the car tomorrow.
I was concerned about 130,000 km. on the engine. if its good for another 130,000 km then that is good. The turbo was rebuilt about 3000 km ago. (just a CT26)
I think it would cost 4k (if you look at new parts to do the work, which includes the bumper cover and underneath the bumper. I just found out the engine has 130,000 km on it (which may not be a lot for a properly built 7MGTE). Getting a little leary of it now.
He will let it go for 4400.00. Thats with what I think is a very sound drivetrain, decent interior (ripped driver seat, but I can fix that myself.. the "myself" fixes dont cause me any pain) (remember.. this is Canada... we dont have quite as many MKIII's as you have.. lol)
Normally, with the...
I am looking at buying a 89 Supra with a 7MGTE that was fully rebuilt (new block, etc.. ) at RCTS (in Calgary, AB, Canada.. some of you may be familiar with Reg) in 2005.
Two things are holding me back from slapping the cash down.
1. How much mileage can you get out of a PROPERLY built 7MGTE...
man.. that gloss makes them look like candy :)
You are a true testament to "how much a person can actually pour into a Supra". (and my hero for doing it)
Check with the shipping company about minimum clearance. I couldn't ship a Supra by Semi because the guys I was talking to wouldn't do it with less than 7" clearance. Umm... not gonna happen on a lot of our cars.. :)
I would recommend just thinking about Vancouver.. lol. But Im out anyway.. my daughter is getting married so I have to be away in Florida for that as it so happens she wants to get married on a cruise..
sigh.. and I had all that money tucked away for my car...
