Electic short? Where do I start hunting this one down?

well.. I can access the wire for the door button easily (as it doesnt have the rear interior in it). Unplugging it will take care of the door lights, but not necessarily the underlying cause. How do you unplug these (anyone know?) I am looking at where they are joined and it looks like you...

On the market for a new airfilter. Need some advice.

The K&N has been on for about 3 years.. no issues. You think if what you say about it coating the AFM with oil, that it would have been discontinued or a great outcry would be heard.. lol. I understand what the principal is, but I dont know of anyone who has "properly" maintained a K&N filter...

On the market for a new airfilter. Need some advice.

I have the K&N on my 88, no issues with it. You have to make sure you understand how to maintain anything correctly though or you can end up doing silly things. I think Apexi would be good as well. The only thing that makes me wonder is when I see the air filter exposed in the engine bay...

Electic short? Where do I start hunting this one down?

Yes, it could be inside the barrel itself. No bare wires that I can see. Going to play with the cylinder and see if the internals are a bit loose after 23 years.. will see if that changes anything (although.. the door lights should not be on regardless what the key cylinder is doing.. as that...

Electic short? Where do I start hunting this one down?

Yeah, the key is off and out of the ignition barrel.. but the battery light stays on. By bare wires, I mean the interior is out (nothing from the front seat to the rear hatch... ) The TSRM diagram is a bit beyond my tiny brain.. lol. I can follow it and understand most of it, but the...

Electic short? Where do I start hunting this one down?

2 days ago, my 87 MKIII started doing something odd. I noticed while looking at it from my living room window. The Battery light was on and the door ajar light was on. (and.. so were the door lights that are at the bottom corner) I dont have an interior in the car from the front seat back...

    Winter Driving

He's in Alberta, I believe.. so through Intact Insurance.. he can get his car insured as an antique/collectible.. (approx. 11.00 per month as long as he doesnt exceed 5000 km per year). thats full insurance and tons cheaper than parking insurance. Also, if the car isn't worth more than 5000.00...

    Winter Driving

Well.. you may have to if you have to.. but do me a favor.. every now and then feel inside your quarters (you can access them from inside the hatch area using the little doors). If you feel dirt or water inside there.. clean it and dump engine oil inside (even dirty is fine although it smells...

    Notorious M.K.3.

is that hood painted carbon fibre? I wont do carbon fibre unless I see a painted version that works.. lol After looking for 3 years for the perfect Supra, I finally decided that I will stick with my 88, upgrade it, and finish it. Too many "perfect" ones that are far from where I am at...

Congrats on the trophy.. well deserved. I want to do a Vegas run when I get mine finished. Would be good to meet and greet! I just noticed your shifter. Is that a custom jobby or is it available somewhere. Mine is a silver cue-ball that I hate. short throw, but your seems like it would be...

So.. what would you do (about to have 3 Supras... sigh..)

I may keep 2.. definitely not 3. But the 88 has so much money in it now.. unless I found someone who really had a good plan for it, Im better off keeping it. 2 is just.. like... cool.

I havent seen them since my early days in Swift Current Sask... (back in the 80's). I think they are still around, but I dont know if they are legal on road anymore. Maybe you will be lucky and winter wont be a rough one. And hopefully they dont need to salt the roads up there. (wherever up...

    Winter Driving

If you want winter tires, I have a set of "sawblades" with 4 winter tires on them (about 90% tread on 2 of them and the other 2 are brand new). I would part with the rims/tires for 400.00 as I will never put my Supra on a winter road. If your interested. (I live in Calgary) PM me. Now.. for...

So.. what would you do (about to have 3 Supras... sigh..)

Well.. I went and looked over it really closely.. and decided against it. After thinking about the comments here, I decided that this is what I am going to do... 1. Buy a very clean stock already done (no rust, interior good) Supra (1990-92) 2. Fix the 90 I have and replace the bad body...
