anyway im assuming youre talking about the way its in 2 pieces. bolt in 1st, then the top nut.
mine started knocking simply due to wear. it wasn't contamination of the oil through water, or debris. sometimes its just time, and therefore your stuff should be salvageable. just use your shit.
5w20 will thin out at hotter temps. thats why i suggested a 40. i believe ian is also running a 10w50 if im not mistaken.
