    removing harmonic damper nut?

That looks good. I built something like that myself, but would have bought it had I known about it!

    removing harmonic damper nut?

Its usually followed by a thread about the crank pulley falling off, and can I use JB Weld to fix the broken key way! :nono:

    removing harmonic damper nut?

For the guys suggesting the starter motor, how do you plan to torque it back up to 195 ft-lbs on reassembly? You need some way to lock the crank, either at the ring gear, or by using those gadgets in post #7, or throwing a 2x4 into the crank if the oil pan is off.

    Overheating issues

I see no conflict between the two threads. If coolant rises above the thermostat opening temp then you are out of coolant capacity, but that capacity limit can be mitigated, for example by turning on an electric fan, if air flow limited such as at idle or low speeds. At idle, cooling systems...

    Comparing maps: 57 vs 60-1

The 60-1 can flow more air (up to 60lb/min compared to 45lb/min for the 57), but its going to be hot air given the poor efficiency above 15 psi. The only way to get more than 40lb/min in the 7M is to run more boost (>20psi) or improve VE with improved head flow). If you are shooting for 500hp...

    Comparing maps: 57 vs 60-1

I've plotted a 7M-GTE running at a pressure ratio of 2.4 (about 20psi boost) for two rpms (5500 and 6500) on compressor maps for the 57 and 60-1 setups. The 7M data comes from figgie's spreadsheet, so look there for the assumptions. Target is 400 hp. 57: This looks like the best match to the...

I'd inspect that keyway very carefully. This failure usually damages it.

    3P's TCCS Disassembly/Analysis

The ECU permits one 16 bit read from RAM every 2.1ms (7.5kB/s). That is the best that you can do without rewriting the ECU diagnostics code. The serial port is running at 1 Mb/s, so more could theoretically be extracted, but would need to be careful since it is shared with the ADC.

My bad, I thought at one point you showed #3 and #4 low. Any gurgling noises on a cold start? My HG took seven years from the time it started gurgling until it blew completely. Usually a stuck valve would make a big ticking noise, wouldn't be hard to miss. Leak down tester should help...

Sorry to hear this, but good validation that the cylinder balance software works, even from 20 years ago! Most likely scenario with the 7M is the head gasket has gone between cylinders, hence the low reading on both. I think you are looking at a rebuild. If is has never been done, then also a...

    3P's TCCS Disassembly/Analysis

This is the 7MGTE ECU running in external mode on the FLASH board. The code is being run in SRAM, so it can be changed on the fly. All the tables, etc. can be changed in real time. A nice GUI to do that is being worked on, but is not ready yet. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4SSAQbanRZw...

    Overheating issues

A general rule of thumb for R12/R134 is to keep the condenser below 125-135C.

    Overheating issues

In order to generate more heat it would presumably need to be removing more heat from the cabin, an unlikely scenario given that R134 conversions are less efficient than with the original R12 charge.

Servicing the injectors is a pain. One thing you can do is just listen to the exhaust. The 7M idle is very uniform sounding if all is well. If you hear a rhythmic sound then that would indicate a cylinder or two is out of spec.

    Codes 25 and 26

It seems you are right on the threshold of what the ECU thinks is out of spec. I wouldn't rule out a lazy injector either here, but at some point you need to make a cost-benefit decision about whether this really is worth the trouble to diagnose further. One thing I do notice about my car is...

    Codes 25 and 26

I would also do a compression check or better yet a cylinder leak down test to make sure there is nothing mechanical going on that could result in an imbalance in cylinder combustion efficiency. The plugs are reasonably fresh I presume? Also, the injectors need to be in good shape with uniform...

    Codes 25 and 26

25/26 on together is not a mixture trim issue, it is instead when a variation in idle rpm (at the cylinder level) is detected that exceeds a threshold value when at idle in closed loop fuel control. It is an early attempt at a P0300 type fault code back when OBD2 did not yet exist. It is not...
