I've had problems on my supra at ~300hp with Dayco belts. I would have to replace it just about every other oil change. I tried a Gates belt, and it did last longer, but nowhere as long as it should have.
All mine ran was the water pump and alternator as well.

I think I'm just gonna clean up the old bushings and put them in. I hate to, but I don't have much choice. They're still good, and it wouldn't make much sense to buy new ones just to have.

Here's the deal. Maaco is good!
However, you must do many things in order for them to be good.
1: Prep the car yourself. Prep it thoroughly, and do a good job.
2: Remove everything that needs to be removed.
3: Tape everything that needs to be taped. Windows, wheels, wheelwells, gas...
I hate to be the one to say it, but if you're concerned about price, and have to ask "what advantages would a standalone give me over a piggy back system", then you are NOT ready for 600whp.
Ah, well as long as you weren't trying to get more power by tricking the computer into thinking the coolant temp was different, then kudos goes to you for using your brain to fix a problem for cheap, and best of all: TEMPORARILY!!! lol

As for the spacers, they're hard to see in this pic... find the fuel rail, and just under the fuel pressure regulator you will see part number 90561-08108
