The non turbo filter has always been bigger. you must be using the one thats standard on GTE's and all other yota like the camery. The 51515 is huge and i noticed actually noticed a drop in oil pressure cause it flows more oil.

Rock auto had oem Aisin GTE oil pumps for under $100 when you use there promotion. there's not many left so snatch them up.

Time for a rebuild! your "backyard mechanic" is an idiot. 20w-50! DAMN! thickest i would put in this motor is 5w-40 if its high mileage or 90+ degrees. These motors are designed for 5w-30 and so are almost all imports.

Buy an NA motor.There always in better condition than turbo motors and all you need to get is and oil line kit.
