Not talking about a hack job here. I have seen a couple mk3's with the exhaust hump notched slightly so that the exhaust tucks better. But, they have reinforced subframes.

oval shaped 3in pipe crammed as high as possible or if you really have to then cut the subframe.

when i went from auto to manual in my 87 i didnt have to wire anything. it just starts lol.
