Careful, my car in the rain HATES me. I swear I can get stuck on the white line, no lie. Just trying to keep up with traffic in the rain, I've nearly spun out in 3rd and HAVE spun out in 4th at 60.
MDC says the hx40 flows 70 lbs/min, my guess is that's with the super 40. I'm still pretty sure the hx40 will get you over 500. I'm hoping for the 7 blade hx35 I just bought to get me over 450.
Nice job. I'll be doing something similar but machining my own t4/t3 adapter out of probably SS304. I'll also have to probably use the NA power steering res to get more clearance around the exhaust.
With the manifold and downpipe will be wrapped in exhaust wrap, I will also probably be using...
You'll never control the boost accurately without boost creep while using the internal gate. I'll be using a 50mm external wastegate.
Plus the internal wastegate doesn't open until roughly 23 PSI.
It's internally gated but I'll be welding the gate shut. Has a 3" vband on the turbine outlet as well. If the turbo gets too close to the shock tower, I can try to move it away with the t4 to t3 adapter I'll be making.
Okay so I've purchased a 7 blade hx35w. My plans are getting the t4 turbo kit from driftmotion without the turbo and machining my own adapter plate to go from t4 to t3.
With this and my other mods, I'm hoping to be able to run close to 450 hp while building another engine on the side.
Any...
Mine while cruising reads around 14.7 to 15.2, then when I go WOT it'll stay near 14.7 til I hit roughly 3k rpm then goes 11.0 and slowly to 10.5.
Cold start idle is near 13.0 and warm idle is around 15.2.
Fuel injectors stuck closed? Swap 5/6 with one of the working cylinders, see if it changes.
Are you getting the voltage at the fuel injector themselves? Is the fuel injector receiving the ground to close(Pulse) the injector?
Overheating isn't the issue, it's the extremely high intake air temperatures which will cause detonation inside the cylinders. The intercooler cools the intake charge from like 400 to 200 which helps with detonation. It's also why people with high psi on pump gas normally use meth injection, to...
Well the hx40 flows roughly 60lbs/min so even if it's not truly accurate, call it 57lbs/min. Roughly 570hp at the crank with the average drivetrain loss, you'll see over 500.
Not to hijack but how do you like the 6766? What a/r did you get? I want to do the driftmotion t4 with 50mm wastegate on a 6766 anti-surge s-cover and t4 vband .96 a/r
But also keep in mind, you said it yourself. Low cooling under heavy loads. That means the engine bay will heat up quickly along with the compressor housing. So you're blowing super heated compressed air into an engine under low cooling condition at high loads, detonation.
Why not get the driftmotion t4 setup and run a hx40? 60 lbs/min capable turbo so it'll get you to your goal, then some. Unless you'd like to toss out some coin and get one of the PTE6266 turbos.
For 500 rwhp, I'd step up the injectors to the next size though.
