is there any way to tell what it has been programed with like a serial number or something?
I forgot to mention i also have this Switch that was wired into the clip it had wires worked into the wires coming from the steering column i tried putting it in the other day before i knew about the Cap...

Allot of people don't know that and in many cases they never do.
More and more new products no longer have any capacitors. Manufacturers did it on a technology / cost basis.

The board that you are looking at. The Round things standing up on it are the Capacitors we are talking about. If you can see it in the picture there is a bunch of brown stuff under one of the Capacitors. When this happens. The Cap has gone bad basically. It has leaked out its contents
