There should be a bracket you can route it through on the bottom of the car. You should also have a battery to chassis ground and a battery to engine ground.

The only way to store any head is to turn it over with the valves facing up. You can store it sitting on the valves side if they are no cams installed.

If you are confused what to use to clean the threads, buy this. Soak the holes with engine degreaser, let it sit and send this down in there and turn it back and fourth. Rinse with gas and inspect to see it is all clean.
