There should be a bracket you can route it through on the bottom of the car. You should also have a battery to chassis ground and a battery to engine ground.

Everything is the same on both GTE and GE except the pistons. The GTE has oil squirters on the block and the GE doesn't.

The only way to store any head is to turn it over with the valves facing up. You can store it sitting on the valves side if they are no cams installed.
