Grandavi, you can't be making statements like that. Too many people can't handle that statement around here. You can't make the inferior appear superior by modifying something.
The one thing that bugs me about the look of the 7m is the wires at the water neck. Don't get me wrong, a polished FFIM and CoP conversion with a cover up plate looks sexy too.
Late Valve Timing Steady 8-18 inHG, at idle. This could be a possibility too.
Some say that if the rings haven't seated within the first 20-50 miles, they aren't going to seat.
I drove mine carefully, trying to not build any boost at all but not let the engine lug at the same time, for around...
I do believe that you can use the aem ems v2 as a PnP. I've stated it in the other thread though, the EMS will not be happy.
It really functions better with the multiplex removed. http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?100739-Removing-multiplex-from-7MGTE-for-less-than-200
Then if you...
The plug and play part of the aem ems is that it does plug into our harness. The play part, well, you need to change a few things around to get the AEM happy with the car. Such as switching out the igniter and going to the DH-61 igniter for the sequential ignition. If you do that, you might as...
When you change your fuel pump, check the tank and make sure the tank is clean.
With the bigger fuel pump you can keep the stock fuel pressure regulator but you need to drill out or bypass the j-tube under the intake manifold. I had to get the AFPR because my stock regulator couldn't handle the...
Thank you Grim. I'm venturing down this same road, not waiting for the engine to pop but seeing how much she will take before I feel it's enough to pull it apart and go big.
I can't understand why everyone just throws the 7m under the bus as if it's some weak engine with tooth picks for...
If you can do the work yourself, build the 7m. A properly built 7m will run with any JZ engine. If you're deadset on a JZ series, make sure you do everything properly as well. Short cuts on these engines can not only kill you but they can also kill your wallet.
It's amazing that my poorly designed head with the OE gasket and new OE bolts are holding my setup just fine.. See my above statement, if you repaired it and it failed yet again, it was your fault.
Some people on this forum just think the JZ is the most unstoppable force ever made. Next best thing besides sliced bread.
It's like this, IF your 7M failed. It was your fault. If you rebuilt it and it blew up again, still your fault. Pointed at you S.A.
Sorry to respond in such a way but I find it annoying when everyone faults the 7M for the owners mistakes. ANY engine will let loose if abused and not maintained. The JZ series was designed to fix the faults that the M series engines head, such as the head design.
Any 7M will stand side by...
