I did it. Scribed the flapper door then made a second a few mm in. Got a carbide bit and went to town. I get no creep or spikes. Holds steady all the way to redline.
Its stupid, but i learned allot from driving the supra when it had bald tires. Drove it like that for 6 months until i could afford new ones. Learned how to counter steer, carry speed, transfer weight and maximize grip. I dare not to do this now on my new tires on the street.
What scares me is that they sold you pistons with the defects. Why haven't they sent them back to manufacture and dropped them as a supplier? Why not send the pistons to a machine shop to be "fixed" and adjust price accordingly?
What company doesn't want our money? If people notice the flaws and stop buying them, they WILL do something about it. Cheaper products make prices more competitive.
Can you measure the grove on the pistons not damaged? I would see if it matches with spec and if you can be refunded. Maybe the spiral locks lost their tension? Crazy.
Welcome to the forums! WOW. I have drooled over the pictures of your car for some time. Please upload more! What are you going to do with that Turbo-A ECM?:evil2:
