Its a very common JZ engine problem. Its on the top of each coil pack, mainly around the "feet" where the screw holds them down, and around the word "Japan" on the side. My friend had cracks in his to where it was as wide as a piece of paper.

Theres a guy in Thailand that makes a 1JZ manifold.. It requires a tad of modding to fit a LHD car (to not hit the brake booster). As far as dyno results go? Who knows.. My spon put one on his 240 but never had a chance to dyno it yet.

It's a stock cam 1jz trick figured out by our boys down under years ago. Dyno's good for around 10 peak hp and 20+hp under the curve with a flatter and longer powerband. On a stock boost car, it feels like you raised the boost by 4 pounds.

It doesn't technically suck, the pistons create a vacuum and air tries to rush in and fill the void :)

my 1jz is a steady 15in/hg vac at idle.. My ex cam is retarded 2.5 degrees.
