    ODB I or ODB II

Kckazdude: That totally pisses me off. Closer and closer we get to, "...when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism..." The question is, what is anyone gonna do about it? More than likely, the...

    HG question

What to do about the tach: You can see that there are resistors that are labeled 1 thru 9. The 2 columns on the bottom tell you what the resistances are on both the n/a and the turbo. The ones in blue you need to change to match the resistances for the turbo tach. This is if you are...

    Electrical help

Thanks :) Over 90% of what I usually work on is OBD2, so I can look at everything every sensor is doing as I manipulate the vehicle. It makes diagnosing bad sensors much easier. But that's a subject for a different thread...

    Electrical help

Thanks for all the help, Jet, I really appreciate it. No need to look into it any further. The ISC steps back so quietly I couldn't hear it without a stethoscope. Even then it was faint, but it stepped 3 times. Is it supposed to be that quiet? I can hear mine easily with the hood open...

    ODB I or ODB II

The difference between OBD1 and OBD2: The one part that is circled is the OBD2 connector. All those other connectors are for different year, make and model pre-OBD2 vehicles. That's not all of them, either.

    Electrical help

I figured it out. The tps was bad. I had checked it 2 weeks ago, and had a 51. Figured it wasn't set right after they put the motor together, so I set it according to the tsrm, cleared the codes, and sent him home. Had Austin check for codes a couple days later, and none were there. Checked...

    non-turbo

I've "heard" that mixing them is bad. Supposedly, it turns acidic, and will tend to eat aluminum parts. I haven't found any evidence of that yet... Engine cold, pull the t.stat, and take the lower hose off. Stick a water hose in the t.stat housing, and let water run until clean water comes...

    So yeah, I'm retarded

Maybe. If the holes aren't extremely crooked, you could drill them out to a bigger helicoil and stud. I could take a look at it for you if you can get it over to me. PM me if you need directions. Check this link: http://www.mkiiitech.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=923 It explains the...

    So yeah, I'm retarded

Wow, that sucks. You need a new head. You beat on the studs, you'll never get a bolt on them. You'll probably crack the head as well, and it will never seal. What year is the motor?

Swiss Rally Champion 89 Supra on I-SUPRA!

Looks like he's selling the 89 Turbo Grp A/N(?) for 12000 pounds? francs? whatever Swiss money is called, not sure... Looks like he has a bunch of parts as well. I don't remember much of the German class I took in high school...

    FFIM 1jz and 2jz on 7mgte

Thank You :) Someone would see "7m to 2JZ ffim conversion," and think they were buying a performance part. I would, and I'd be pissed if the runners didn't flow smoothly.

    Axle Problems?

There are no axles for the front wheels on a Supra.... Maybe a loose caliper bolt backing out and hitting the wheel? Wheel bearings roar, and will change pitch when you turn in the right direction.

It's True, I have gone to the dark side.

PHEW!!! When I saw the thread title, thought maybe you lost your head and bought a Honda... Nice car, btw. I'd have bought it, to....

    Looking into this MK3

Have to pull the motor to do it right. Hopefully it doesn't need a crank. Price would really depend on the damage done, and what has to be replaced. I would expect to spend a $1000 minimum, parts and labor.

    ODB I or ODB II

Chris: Hmmm... I'll check on that tomorrow. I'm pretty sure that they're supposed to test it for you, just like alt., starters, etc.

    Bypass valve...will it hurt performance?

Ah. If I was concerned that there was a good possibility of running through water high enough to submerge my air filter, I'd run a short ram, and keep the filter up in the engine compartment. You know, there is just (and I mean JUST) enough room inside the back of the fender to put a small...

    Bypass valve...will it hurt performance?

Ahhh, like the AEM ones? I was wondering what you were talking about.... http://www.aempower.com/ViewCategory.aspx?CategoryID=20 Looks like a straight through design, so I'd think it wouldn't effect performance at all. I remember reading a tech. article in SCC, or Turbo Mag. a few years ago...

BDTrims interior what do you guys think

Those Hurst shifters are HEAVY!!! I just installed one a couple weeks ago in an 85 rx7. Don't like the feel at all. Dash does look good, though.
