I know what 2 step does. So if your RPM's drop when launching you can lose that built up boost? If you still have to slip the clutch to keep the RPM's up and maintain that boost then what the point of having 2 step? You can slip the clutch off the line and build up boost without a 2step...
I've seen MKIV's 2step off the line and dump the shit out of their cars. They launch like a bat out of hell. They don't slip the clutch. So what's the point of having a 2 step to build boost off the line only to slip the clutch to maintain that boost? If you have drag radials, or slicks...
I understand why people slipped the clutch off the line with a turbo car. Keeps wheelspin under control, builds boost at the same time your avoiding bogging out.
I've heard of people with 2 steps still slipping the clutch then letting go when they launch. This is odd to me because I...
I'm running Nitto Extreme 555r drag radials. They have plenty of grip... even on wet streets. I haven't driven on a serious down pour, and don't plan to either. I love them. Being that I don't drive the car that often they should last a good while.
Lol. My exact thoughts. Kitchen and living room build = single man. Hell... why get the garage dirty? We gotta keep the man cave spotless to impress our friends. Too bad mine is dirty.
These are the pics that show the cartech intercooler clearing the power steering coolers. The first three pics is the biggest side of the intercooler. It clears by a good 1/4" if not more. This is the view from the radiator looking foward. Notice the horn and hood latch...
The only change you're doing forged pistons, and a stand alone. If you're still tuning at 16psi 11.5:1 then I don't see any kinda change either. That turbo is capable of alot more than 16psi. And with your new forged pistons and EMS I would take advantage of it.
How do you know your last...
Quicker spark plug change would be cool, but I'm not going to spend $1000 to do it.
Quickspool valve analogy is apples to oranges.
I like my ugly stock intake manifold thank you very much. :icon_razz
Does the vibration only happen when in neutral and idling? Does it go away when you bring the RPM's up? Does it vibrate while driving?
Any noises associate with the vibration?
Does you car idle rough when it happens, or do your RPM's drop or lope around?
What have you done recently...
No not yet. I don't want it pumping that much until I start messing with my piggyback. I've been keeping an eye on the a/f ratios with the wideband and it's doing ok for now.
Exactly. The velocity of the air coming from the intercooler to throttle body under WOT is probably way too fast for the pipe over the engine to heat it up enough to make that much of a difference.
Does a FFIM look better than the stock set up? Hell yeah. Do I personally care about the...
Which 6 puck do you have? My ACT sprung 6 puck would slip too. I called ACT and the tech told me to give it a little more break in time and it should hold. I did that, and it holds now. Well, at least while the car is rolling. I haven't tested to see if it holds dumping it out of 1st gear...
If the time hasn't come to start the build, and you've searched this topics that has been covered numerous times, and you've already answered your own question... then why post this topic?
The old argument isn't stupid if it's being proven. How much cooler do you think a properly set up FFIM lowers your air charge? And think about this. The cylinder header runs at a certain temperature. Your intake manifold is bolted to that cylinder head. The cylinder head heats up the intake...
