    IG is the rpm signal. Found at the igniter, tach, and diag box.

    Makes no sense. If the line was plugged the EGR was already disabled so how did you disabling it prior help? And why are you not testing the system per the manual? One of us is corn-fuzed....

    EGR flow at idle will indeed cause problems however disabling it and seeing improvement indicates the valve is functional. Since EGR is already disabled at idle by ported vacuum you may want to check if it's plumbed correctly.

    It'd blow even less if you had the valve. Orion: You obviously have a high tolerance for laziness, failure to RTFM, lack of critical thinking, and outright stupidity. All of which, though always in great supply here, are of late off the chart. But don't worry, with age you'll lose it.

    Well, you could always test it. Ohm from the ant to cable end and ant to ground. Or test the cable by itself. Look for continuity of the center conductor and shorts from center to shield.
