It won't last all that long though because the problem isn't contact oxidation as much as it is erosion.
Runs well" is subjective. The consequences are relatively minor for the engine but major for other systems eg; cruise and TEMS. If it were me I'd fix it anyway.
Huh? I daily drove mine for well over 20 years. Ran like a watch right up until the day I crushed it. Didn't require a whole lot of maintenance either. Course, having control of it since day one helped.
