Place the wing on it, and put black tape in the place of your mouldings. That will give you a quick idea of what it will look like with and without black mouldings. As for the tail, I'm sure someone has a red sup with a painted whale tail on here somewhere.
Well, when I say complicated I'm not real sure you can make a manifold useing lost wax. Manifolds are usually done useing sand castings with the internal passages madeout of sand and then vibrated out after casting. Only way i can think that he could make it useing wax would to make it from wax...
Look at it this way, it's just paint so it can be changed at anytime. You can get trim black paint at O'rielys for $10 for a large sparay can. I use that on any of the trim I refinish. Try it all black then if you don't like it paint the parts to fit.
If your going to paint the whale tail black, do it in a trim black by SEM and do your trim moulding to match. If you've got the carbonfiber hood as well, it should even out the flow of color. Doing it flat black like that will give you a little bit of contrast but not too much to draw attention...
It's called lost wax casting. but I am interested in ow he plans to do this part with all the interior channels needed. BSG, it looks like you might be makeing this a little more complicated than it really has to be.
