Thats not a bummer, thats just the fact of life. You can piece your own kit together for around 4k, or buy one from Greddy thats "complete" for $5500.
That does not include fuel or ECU with the Greddy kit. The 4k i quoted includes intercooler and pipes.
Or you can get a Holset and...
I've been paying more attention to my revvs this last week. My gauge is off (sc3) so I started reading my SAFC2 more, it seems accurate. I float mine at 7880ish rpms @ WOT. I've gone over 8, but not at WOT. It's very easy for me to over-revv with the GT40 and auto transmission. I normally...
Cork? Here you go man..
Of course they had no idea what a 1j is, it was never offered in an american car.
You know, I think I have a set of those ones that come with the chinaman single manifolds laying around. $10 and they are your shipped. Otherwise if you want factory MLS exhaust...
First off.. It's 1JZGTE, Toyota does not use the TT.
Second, that 2JZSWAP.com crap is a 1000000% ripoff. You can have a shop install your motor and wire it up for the price if you don't order it. That Install kit equals about $500 worth of parts and labor at any shop.
If you get a JDM...
Sitting in the dyno room in that much heat, yeah a bigger cooler would have helped for numbers for damn sure.
I used my twins for a year @ 18psi, sold them, and the new owner now a year later as far as i know, still uses them without issues.
I had another 1JZ SC that my wife and I drove...
???
I use 15in rims to dyno with. It's proven that even upgraded in size calipers and brake rotors can rob up to 10whp due to more mass farther from the center of rotation. I can't imagine what my 18's would do if i dyno'ed with them on.
I have a alot of stock twin dyno time under my belt, let me give you a list of best bangs for the buck:
MBC
FREEEEEEE flowing exhaust
16-18 psi boost
Other then that, the next step would be Cams, and SAFC2 to correct the fuel mixture from the cam install. You can throw a FMIC in the...
Want to know a secret? Don't tell anyone.
I change my rear tires to 15's when I dyno.
I made my 310whp with no thermostat also. I had a cooling problem (bhg) and it would run too hot with one.
I'm sorry, but you'll only see a HP gain on a hot day and if you turn your boost up. Even then, you might see 3-5whp tops. On the highway, you'll have zero gain over stock. The biggest gain you'll see is only on the dyno, because a bigger cooler in such a hot stationary enviroment is just...
