    Losing Interest

Thermostat and water pump are insanely easy...both could be done in 10 minutes if you wanted. It is annoying that it has to be done though; plus the engine driven fan is tricky to take off. Single 32mm (or was it 36?) nut threaded onto the water pump pulley IIRC. One thing I'd feel very much...

    Losing Interest

The block is basically a bored out 7M. Proof that two similar engines can have two completely different sounds and powerbands is cemented in the heads. Dual VANOS is nice (variable cam timing on both) and having a chain instead of a belt is cool for maintenance, but its also an interference...

    Losing Interest

If you think this car is fast you desperately need a tune. My car has no more than $3k into it and it felt like it could keep up with or pass an M3. Also, keep in mind theres roughly DICK you can do to an M3 to get power out of it efficiently. M3s are so awesome because they are pretty much...

    Goodbye everyone

Those who think the Miata suddenly doesnt handle the same because of a few hundred extra lbs havent talked to or gone for a ride in one. Theres plenty of people on Miata.net that hate the idea of a big engine in a little car, but theres also many badass swaps. I think a 302 swap only changes the...

    Goodbye everyone

Yeah, because swapping an LS1 is a walk in the park :icon_roll I really dont think a 7M would be as bad as people think. Pretty sure its lighter than a 302, which is a common swap, and the car doesnt become a lost cause handling wise like people think. Time and money permitting, I'd...

    Goodbye everyone

I've gone as far as to bust out the measuring tape. It'll fit with some slim e-fans I have to agree. I've been on Tampa Racing for years because I thought I was going to live in the area and I like the idea of a generic local car site...the place is going to hell now. Even though I'm in...

How old were you when you got your first Supra?

Between all of the cars I've had (88T targa 5 speed, 89T hardtop auto, 86 Corolla GT-S, 93 Miata), the Supras have had the lowest insurance. The difference in insurance between N/A and turbo is usually negligible.

    Action Pic Thread!!

Hell no, and its no better in person. It looks dumb as fuck and doesnt match any part of the car. The stock wing, although debatable, is functional and built with the car. Those wings...dont fit on anything, car or not.

    Fuck I hate that wing

Poll: Pick a color for my Supra.

Electric Blue Pearl from the late Evo 8s and the Evo IX "GSR" (non RS/MR) I have an entire folder dedicated to this color

    LF-A Supra

Cut the size down by 10%, lose the exhaust, and try again. Right now I'm not liking it, and although I'm doubting it, its possible that the look could be pulled off.

    Question about torque wrench use.

IMO click is the best for anything on the car for whatever reason pretty much, but anything on the engine itself (valve covers, and definitely head bolts)...well I'm going to buy a beam type just for that reason.

    Question about torque wrench use.

LOLZ. The clicker type is the least accurate. The dial is more accurate, and on top of that, the beam type. Snap-On is overpriced junk IMO. I've never seen more tools break than with Snap-On. Matco is much more affordable, higher quality, and better service from what I've experienced. Mac is...

    How hot is considered overheating?

I think the factory thermostat is still good regardless of where you live. Why would you want to run a cooler one? The only reason I can think of is that its a crappy way to make the ECU always run richer to compensate for not ever getting up to temp. Its one thing if the t-stat needs to be...

    Post your Pre-89 bumper thread

Definitely custom. I thought the same thing as well, that it was from a 240 design. While we're on the subject of using other cars for inspiration...

    automatic turbo supras

Same. I've already posted my story before, but I've driven my car for a month without using the clutch pedal because the slave and master both went out

    Orion's plans for the summer

I was impatient when masking them off and didnt care enough to do it right because it wouldnt really matter. The day that I would do it professionally is the same day I'd put aftermarket wheels on anyways. If I were painting them some ricer lime green or white or something that wasnt close to...

    automatic turbo supras

I dont doubt autos at all. I've said before that autos are for slow cars and really really fast cars. I still much prefer shifting myself. People look at me weird when I drive my mom's RX300 but shift manually. Fuck the stock shift habits, thats not when I want to shift!

    Orion's plans for the summer

To protect the paint? I thought it was customary to have that extra layer for UV resistance and what not, regardless of color or gloss/flatness
