1uz. Smaller displacement, lower hp/tq to start with, and very little aftermarket support. Most performance upgrade you'll do will be one off = $$$.

I found ls1 complete change out w/accessories and 6 speed trans for $4070 and under at car-part.com. Some come with harness and ECU too.
They also have lq9 w/aod for around $2100.

OP, on a serious note if you can afford to go 2j do it. I haven't heard one complaint, or a single regret from doing so. I'd even consider running a 2jzge with 7m electronics.
Ok, I plugged the lex afm back in. Messed with the afm adjustment screw and adjusted the afpr accordingly. My idle is once again rock solid with 15.3afr and 3.5v fuel trim displayed on the voltmeter. So it is my map ecu fuel table that needs work. They say the hardest part using the map ecu...
Compression or leak down test can rule out worn piston rings. Changing valve stem seals isn't rocket science either.
I wouldn't go and sell it right away.
While you're waiting for your new AFM, I would take off all of the intercooler piping and inspect those for any cracks, tears, rips, etc.
When do you notice the blue smoke? Idle, cruising, accelerating, decelerating, all the time?
PO was probably an electrical genius and disconnected the check engine light because it annoyed him. I'm an electrical dummy, so I couldn't help you in that department.
Thanks David. I'm going to try some of the other nut and bolt specialty stores. If I can't find them there then I'll get them from dealership. I'm not in a hurry.
I have another issue on hand. My idle isn't steady, it bogs here and there and dies from time to time. I didn't notice this...
