My stock gauge seems to decide when it want's to work. Sometimes it reads 0 the entire drive. Sometimes it actually registers some pressure. I've always attributed it to bad wiring since its so old. Should I be worried at all? I've had no problems out of the engine in 7 months of hard driving...
Its probably stupid to ask but do you have an Air Filter? lol My 88 did the exact same thing until I bought an adapter and managed to fit an Air Filter to it. Granted I still have the AFM.
Lol Actually dude its Reno. If I end up keeping my 88, which may be the case due to money needs you'll at least have an 88 Turbo Hardtop out there with yuh. Also mine is sorta a project so if you'd be interested to help out Supra noobie like me that would be great.
I'll see what I can manage. Hope I can save up the money in the next couple months. I'm moving to NV from Alabama. Not sure if the 88 will make the drive lol.
It is dark green, and its a 5-speed. An auto is just a waste of a Supra in my opinion. If I remember correctly it was a hardtop, but its been months since I last saw it so I may be mistaken. I do remember thinking "wow this car is gorgeous". Besides on my 88 I would convert everything to 89+...
Yes, the only problem with it is that the paint is starting to fade a bit. Other than that its breath taking. Thanks for the input guys. Guess I'll see what I can do about that then.
I currently have an 88 Supra Turbo and was considering selling it to my roommate for 3k or 3.5k after I get the AC, heat, and cosmetic issues taken care of. Shouldn't take more than 500 for that stuff. Maybe 7. Well I know a guy here that wants to sell his 92 Supra Turbo and he's asking 5500...
I've always disliked the idea of the NA-T engines. The 7m-gte has lower compression pistons so that the engine can handle the turbo. I've heard that turbo charging an NA reduces the life of the engine due to that compression difference. Also don't forget that the NA Supra came with the W58...
It really does depend on your area. Where I live we have tons of cops riding the roads with absolutely NOTHING to do the majority of the time. So when they see a lowered, and loud sports car driving they just have to find some excuse to pull it over in the hopes of giving some unlucky driver a...
Not so much because they like our cars, but just that they grab their attention. I know the guy was just hoping I didn't have insurance or something. If I'd been driving a car that looked like less of a "crazy driving deathtrap" he wouldn't have even looked at my tag lol.
I just got pulled over for a cover over my tag. If I'd been driving a Mini Van or some white sedan the cops wouldn't have given me a moment's notice. I just thought I'd start this thread so we can all share stories of being pulled over almost completely because of the car we drive.
I'm just wondering if anyone else has had the same issue as me and what the problem was.
When I'm accelerating hard and then let off suddenly and put the car into neutral the idle drops to almost 200 rpms, barely keeping from dieing. It doesn't always do this so I'm not sure what the problem is.
Its all about the unique factor of a twined 7m. I'm a loyalist to that engine when it comes to the mk3 so I don't think I could do a jz swap and feel ok with it lol.
Since the first moment I got my Supra I've dreamed of one day replacing the single turbo with a TT set up. Does any company make a turbo upgrade kit for that desire?
My throwout baring actually went bad today. Clutch won't disengage. Managed to get it to my mechanics through rev match shifting ;) lol thank god my buddy had experience doing that. Don't mean to thread jack but would a basic assembly from autozone be fine when I'm running 260ish whp? It should...
Where did you get your hood and that upper bumper piece? Looks sweet. I also have an 88 Supra Turbo. Also that lower lip is nice as fak lol. Site name?
Edit: That is directed toward 88supraT
