What about taking care of painting the normally-unseen areas yourself?
Even for areas like the engine bay and door jambs, it is easy (even for a novice) to get a great finish. Just use a decent gun in good weather.
Even if you want to leave the jambs and bay to the professionals, the areas...
All right then, that's me stating the obvious as usual :icon_bigg
Let us know if you figure out the issue as there are quite a few of us who just took part in the GB. I'm sure you won't be the only one with the problem.
I haven't received my e-code housings yet, so I haven't been able to...
You should wait.
If you don't have enough for 550's you don't have enough for anything that *might* allow you to tune a lex afm and 440's safely.
Obviously, there is no problem installing the AFPR and pump right away.
You can buy supplies and make your own braided hoses if you want. Another alternative is to call Aaron @ driftmotion with measurements for the lines you want made and ask him if he'd be willing to make them for you.
Hose techniques sells a silicone vacuum hose set for an MKIII, but most...
Just find the color code. The paint shop will be able to order it from a supplier. Alternatively (and more expensively), you can buy the paint you need directly from the manufacturer (i.e. a parts department).
You can usually find color codes easily, but if you need help with one, I can...
I guess I'll keep the cop theme going here. Sorry, but this is sorta long.
My sister went to school at U of I in Champaign. I would visit her quite a bit on the weekends. I worked Saturdays, so I'd usually end up driving down Saturday night LATE.
Well, one weekend, I did the responsible...
Let me just reiterate a suggestion.
If you have the block out of the car already, just take it to a shop. Prepping the surface yourself will take quite some time. In the end, you are still going to know it could have been done better by a machine shop.
It does not cost that much and...
That's pretty weak. There's nothing wrong per se with a pushrod engine. Obviously the one used in a C6 is an excellent example of its effectiveness. You are acting like OHC design is *new* technology - not even close.
I have my car tuned fairly well, so I'm really not running overly rich at any point. I keep a pretty close watch on everything, and so far, no issues. I am certain however, that I do not drive as aggressively as some people here.
I also have never heard a first-hand account of the dangers you...
I drove one over a long weekend. No real complaints.
Interior is significantly improved over a c5.
As far as TG's complaints:
- Tranny belongs on a tractor. I thought the trans shifted beautifully and put power to the ground effectively.
- Suspension is too stiff and hard to live with...
It really depends on how strictly everything is enforced. I lived in a community that was pretty lax - I never even heard a peep about any of my blatant violations.
Here is what I would do:
go to Supramania.com
scroll down to "authorized vendors"
start looking
Here is just one example of what this specialized technique called "browsing" will get you:

If you are going to be doing your own prep work, take it to a good body shop and have them spray it - it will not cost you that much.
If you let Earl Scheib or Maaco paint your car, you will regret it for a long time.
Good call - I'm not really thinking about the problem completely, and I understand the "too late" comment now.
The cam gears can be properly aligned using a proper straight edge and analyzing the angle of the mark on the gears. There really isn't very fine adjustments to be made - after you...
