You're misquoting me. I paid $325 for EVERYTHING, not just HID's. I paid $250 shipped for a McColloch 5300k kit which contained the ballasts, ignitors, and bulbs. That's $150 less than the hi/lo combo. Included in that $325 are the brand new e-code housings AND my adapters so I don't blind...
You must prime the system if you want to get oil to the turbo before you start it. To do this, take out the EFI fuse located in the engine bay fuse panel and crank the car for somewhere between 10-15 seconds. This gets oil in all the necessary places before you actually start it.
I thought your brother did a TT swap on his 300zx. If he did, how would it be practicle to have an individual throttle body setup (ITB's)?
If you get one built and running on your supra, we'll need to do it on mine next. ;)
Haha, it's funny you mention that possibility because 3 weeks ago I got stung by a wasp. I was working on my station wagon (88 celebrity y0!1!11) and a little screwball came out from behind the driver's side mirror. He was a brilliant fire truck red with those evil little contrasting yellow...
I've only used NGK's and that's what I am currently using.
Suze, I got some wires like the ones you had (that were too long) and I could swear that is a problem they have in the parts computer wherever you got them from. When I opened them up, I was like "WTF?" and I returned them that...
Glad to hear your staying, but it looks more like you were dragged back here kicking and screaming (due to insurance costs).
I've got a leak at the rear of my block, too, but I'm pretty sure it's the rear main seal. I'll be replacing the clutch one day soon anyway, so I'll check it out...
Using good quality components, the total cost of my project was a hair under $325 and I couldn't be happier. I will say this, I am never owning a vehicle without HID's ever again. Yes, the difference is THAT obvious.
Edit: Forgot to add...
Also, Siman, do NOT use JDM housings for your...
I have McColloch's on my supra, but they are low beam only. To tell you the truth, you don't need high beams once you go HID. I love mine to death because they are so freakin' bright and I don't blind people because I built them correctly using D2S bulbs and H4 adapters that block off the...
Actually, Florida has sand, salt water, etc. that can make it a horrible climate for cars. My first supra came from Florida and it looked like it had been drug across a riverbed. For a no rust atmosphere, talk to the guys in AZ. No humidity makes them a prime candidate for rustless cars.
