There isn't a really good reason to get it from the dealer. I bought one with a 90 degree bend from Autozone and trimmed off what I didn't need. Been working great for 5 years now...can't remember the price, but it was less than $10 USD, I believe.

I've done it! Yes, it's true! Yes it works! Somehow it allows the fan to pull a crap load more air (perhaps through greater lock-up of the viscous coupling, I'm guessing?) And, yes, it was a direct replacement.

I have the SP61GT with the internal wastegate and it holds the 15 psi with my BC turned off just fine. Don't think it's a lack of wastegate performance.

The AVGAS that I have seen is 100LL (low lead). Yes, you can run it, but you will eventually ruin your cat (if it is still installed) and your oxygen sensor.

I had a similar knocking noise on mine and it turned out that the sway bar end link had not been re-attached appropriately. Whooops...

Oil pressure and CSI time switch were two that gave me the most trouble. Loki: You can also get an engine block tester to see if you are getting any exhaust gasses in your coolant. How quickly does the gauge go to full scale? If it happens relatively quickly, I would suspect a grounding issue.

Loki, I had a lot of trouble using the JDM sensors with my US harness and as soon as I swapped my USDM sensors back in, everything worked fine. I agree with Shawndude that it might be grounding itself out. That happened to my oil pressure gauge once...really freaked me out!
